Jack Hume Adventures

Why book your Quebec Labrador Hunt with Jack Hume Adventures Inc?

MOBILITY

J.H.A operates their aircraft from their own private dock. You won't lose valuable time on the 1st day of your hunt waiting on the next available floatplane to fly you into camp. If a move to a more productive camp would prove to be beneficial it will be done "free of charge" without hesitation or complication.

HIGHEST RATIO OF SPARE CAMPS

We have 25 fully operational camps strategically located throughout the Ungava region of Northern Quebec. 17 camps are kept as spare camps. They are continually scouted throughout the season, by use of our private Cessna 185 and by strategically placing a spare guide in designated camps. J.H.A can usually place each group of 6 hunters in a productive camp from the start of their hunt. (Rarely, and strictly when no other choices are available will more than 6 hunters occupy one camp.)

ACCESS TO BOTH HERDS

Quebec has two major herds of Caribou, the George River Herd and the Leaf River Herd. J.H.A is one of the few outfitters to have camps intercepting both herds. With constant changes in the migrations nobody should depend on just one herd. Some of the camps that intercept the Leaf River Herd are over 200 air miles from Schefferville and are very costly to fly hunters into, however when needed hunters are flown into these camps immediately at no extra cost.

INTEGRITY

J.H.A is known as one of the most trusted, honest, fair chase outfitters in Canada. "A family business that is two generations strong and has the highest repeat business in the industry at over 80%."

EXPERIENCE

Jack Hume is truly a pioneer and one of the first outfitters to guide caribou hunters in northern Quebec. Richard Hume represents the second generation, has been involved since1981, and has successfully managed the operation for the past ten years. Jack and Richard have hunted all over North America in search of big game. Most trips were very rewarding however a few were complete disasters. These trips have made them aware of what their hunter's expectations are. Rest assured you will be treated as a guest hunting amongst friends.

OWNER-OPERATED

Upon arriving in Schefferville you will be greeted by Richard and/or his wife Amanda. Should you have any concerns or complaints they are always available to do their best at finding a solution.

PRICE-COMPETITIVE

Other outfitters who book more than 6 hunters into a camp, have fewer spare camps, less experience, who don't operate their own aircraft, don't have access to both herds, don't move you to a more productive camp "free of charge", are charging similar amounts for their hunts!

HUME MOTTO?

The "HUME" motto is "true to the end". As a "HUME" I pledge to provide 100% effort on my behalf to place each hunter in a situation were they can have an opportunity to harvest a caribou. I am not God, and I certainly can't control the weather. Quebec Labrador Caribou are free and can migrate where and whenever they decide to. Unlike a "game farm" things can still go wrong. That is why we call it hunting…If your only interest is to kill a caribou, we might not be the outfitter you are looking for as our hunt is for those who would like a fair chase, ethical, and challenging hunt and that "my friends" is what we provide.
